Focused on interstellar development, deep space navigation, introducing the Horizons Alliance.
As humans begin to expand their horizons beyond the Earth’s surface and out into the stars and beyond, space travel will grow in its value. As a result, the ability to effectively navigate through the expanses of space must become a top priority of space alliances world-wide.
At Horizons, we understand that this need for navigation is growing and have expanded our grasp to begin to solve this problem. Spreading awareness about the upcoming outer-space revolution is the first goal on the list. We believe that the world should know about this growing need and should begin to find ways to address this.
Bearing the growing need for space navigation in mind, inspired by the prospect of creating an open platform for space development, the Horizons Alliance was formed.
This group is responsible for the overseeing, research, and development of outer-space navigation. It aims to work alongside existing research and development firms to work towards opening human space travel to the expanses beyond the atmosphere.
The Horizons Alliance has 3 main goals:
The first goal of the Horizons Alliance is to develop software focused on outer-space navigation. This software is free and open source, under the MIT or Massachusetts Institute of Technology license. We encourage users to investigate our software sources to gain deep understanding of the problem space.
It is important that the formation of regions in space are researched and understood by astronomers. With this knowledge accurate maps of select regions in space can be created.
